Let’s have a look at taking a product idea from inception to finish line. ThermoCo. has an idea for Halloween themed products.
Halloween Limited Edition Thermal Container by ThermoCo.
Step 1: Let’s make a logo and word mark for Cauldron. I started in Adobe Illustrator with some type faces and then customized the one I liked. Also note some color palette ideas and an AI ideation, just to see what it would come up with.
Step 2: Asset creation. I made some bold, flat designs of cats and pumpkins to use in my pattern. Flat shapes are clean for printing. Remember to group and label all of your designs so you can grab them easily later.
Step 3: Pattern Design. Now that we have some cool looking assets, let’s make a pattern!
Step 4: Test the pattern. The pattern tools in Illustrator can be tricky, so I always test it out before making the final swatch.
Step 5: Product Mockups. Let’s put the pattern on some products.
Step 6: Prep for animation. Return to Illustrator and ungroup the assets that I want to animate. “Release to sequence” so every layer can import into After Effects correctly, and we’ll be able to do staggered animations.
Step 7: Bring everything into Adobe After Effects for animation.
Step 8: Just a quick 10 second social ready post idea.
